Safety

We are very proud of what we believe to be one of the finest roofing and waterproofing companies in the country. Safety is a top priority and all of our employees share the responsibility of maintaining a safe and productive workplace, whether in one of our office locations or on job sites. We are committed to excellence and are confident that the following overview will help you understand our pride in our performance and safety program.

The Corporate Health and Safety Program Manual, containing policies and procedures, is continually updated. It is supplemented by more comprehensive documentation covering such topics as:

  • Hearing Conservation Program
  • Injury and Illness Prevention Program
  • Lead Abatement Program
  • Respiratory Protection
  • Substance Abuse
  • Vehicle Safety
  • Accident Prevention

All newly-hired employees are required to attend a mandatory training program which covers topics such as:

  • Fall Protection
  • Respirator Program
  • OSHA Regulations
  • OSHA Inspections
  • Personal Protective Equipment
  • Hazardous Materials
  • Safety Meeting/Daily Checklist
  • …and other related subjects

Weekly, monthly and quarterly safety meetings with production and service personnel, Safety Specialists and Regional Safety Directors are held to discuss general and job specific safety issues.

Our Safety Training Certification program ensures that our personnel are ‘certified’ in specific areas of safety associated with the roofing industry. Each unit is offered annually at a minimum.

Subcontrators associated with any of our roofing projects are required to review our safety program with all of their employees assigned to our site. Their employees then must sign an acknowledgement confirming their understanding and compliance with our Safety Program.

Inspections are conducted by a variety of methods. These include pre-job surveys as well as daily, periodic and/or unannounced site visits. Should safety violations be discovered, appropriate disciplinary action is taken.

Any accidents are investigated by our Safety Directors and Specialists, with facts and corrective measures reported to appropriate managers and other applicable entities. Our National Catastrophe Response Team stands ready should there ever be an (unprecedented) major event.

OSHA logs are maintained at each branch location with information summarized in a master log at the Corporate Office.

Material safety data sheets and a copy of our safety program are maintained on the roof of each jobsite. Copies are provided at the request of the customer. Hazardous communication training is provided at orientation, weekly ‘Toolbox’ meetings and in accordance with the training schedule.

We maintain worker’s compensation, general liability and automobile insurance coverage for operations throughout the USA. A Certificate of Insurance is provided with proposals or at the request of a customer.
